Melissa gave Vincent a coy smile in response. "Indeed I am. it's not really hard to tell I'm sure." She said as she took a drink from her glass and gave a quick chuckle. "Don't worry. I won't bite, unless you want me to." She said sweetly.
"I've taken to feeding on some of the animals around the area. It's no different from hunting, I just don't waste the blood." She explained. Melissa wasn't ashamed of how she kept herself alive, but she was trying to make an effort to become more accepted by society, and not preying upon people was a very good start.

"I have nothing against vampires," Said Vince, a tad defensively "fine, upstanding people," He picked up the red wine and swirled it in his glass, trying to look suave and debonair in a shirt so faded you could see the daylight through it. "I daresay there are quite a few people who need to remember that they're not the ones who have a weakness to only one metal. You can stab them with anything, tungsten, steel, even a sharp stick'd do it," He smiled and reclined a little.

Melissa gave a small nod. "It is a pity that the views on our kind have been so skewed over time. Not everything said is wrong, but not all of it is right. I'm hoping one day that the world can understand that we are very similar to any other race." She said before taking another drink and setting the glass down to fill it.
"So Vincent, please tell me, what is it you normally do to get by? I do not often find many wanderers in this area, I get the impression you are not local to these woods." She said while raising an eyebrow.

Vince leaned back further, his rougish tendency, usually used to break human laws, now nearly breaking the law of gravity. "To get by?" He asked himself as much as anyone "I make and sell maps, though I'll fight for anyone who pays me, provided the chance of death is minimal and I'll do any job, provided I can trim as much off the top as I may need," He looked wistfully at the ceiling, smiling. "It's surprising how often I have to make my own arrangements to fit that,"

"I've met a few like you before. What some like to call the smarter variety of mercenary. Doing about any job, as long as they don't have to stick their necks out too far." She said before taking another drink from her glass and giving a sweet smile. "Some call your kind cowards, I've always felt you simply value being alive, and that's something to respect."

Vince grinned and raised his glass. "Cheers," He said "To surviving, and lucrative ventures," It was an old toast he'd heard all too many times in the old garage that'd been home. Usually when survival was unlikely and lucrative ventures had been and gone.

Melissa lifted her glass in response to the toast and finished the contents of her glass before setting it down and filling it again. "So Vincent, I admit to a high degree of curiosity, where will you be going when you decide to leave?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
"There is no rush for you to leave this place of course, I have more than enough to accommodate you for some time, and I do ever miss the company." She added

Vince looked thoughtful. "Y'know, I'm not totally sure." He bit his lower lip "generally I just find a lift somewhere and end up wherever that goes." Having said that, he had always wanted to know what the city-states were like...

Melissa gave a small chuckle. "A drifter, I see. That would make you to be a rather well traveled person at a much younger age than many other people." She replied before giving a small coy smile.
"So is it a girl in every port for you? Or do you tend to leave well enough alone?" She asked with a small giggle.

Vince spluttered in his drink. "Good God, Ms Vanderhost, Who do you take me for?" Vince said, in mock outrage "You're not hinting at anything, are?" He raised one eyebrow and the long-deceased ghost of a cheeky smile flitted across his face.

Melissa couldn't help but give a laugh at the man's reaction to her comment. "I take you for a healthy man of the world. What's so bad about that?" She asked before flashing a smile. "Though I'm not suggesting anything, I'm not one to deny myself or others a pleasant experience, I am quite an accommodating hostess after all." She said before taking another sip from her glass and smiling coyly.

"You certainly are," Vince replied, eyeing her cautiously, and the grin hovering faintly "I try not to get too involved in that kind of thing. No certainty of getting back dampens the spirit of these things," He looked vacant for a moment before he chuckled to himself and swirled his glass. "Well, usually,"

Small shimmering streaks of light lit up the leaves on the undergrowth as a small creature bounced though the forest. The moonlight that filtered in from between the trees made the catlike creatures orange pelt look like a pale silver, its big green eyes glistining with starlight.
The muse bounced through the forest, bounding playfuly after fireflys and moths as she made her way through the forest. Suddenly her green eyes fell upon the a light from a distant building and the little muses curiousity took over as she forgot about the fireflys and moths and made her way throught the forest to the house.
As the small creature aproched she tiptoed keeping low to the ground, trying to be stelthy, although her sparkleing aura made hideing next to imposible. Stareing up at the window she pawed the side of the house trying to get up to the window sill so she could look in. With a small mew of effort the little creature bounded up grabbing hold of the window sill with her small paws and hoisting herself up to peer in.
She could see a man and a woman talking at a table, haveing a drink. The thought of food and drink made the muses stomach growl. Just like Kioko to be hungry. With a small mew she pawed the window hopeing that she would get safe passage inside, and maybe a free meal.

Hearing a pawing at her window, Melissa let her gaze shift over to it and smile seeing what was there. Rising from her seat she walked by Vincent letting her hand rest on his cheeek and gently brush it. "Oh believe me, you would get only what you would enjoy." She said as she passed him smily sweetly as she opened her window.
"Hello little one." She said as he extended a hand. She had seen a Muse before and loved the small creatures. "You look very hungery, do come in and join us."

The little muse mewed in glee and hopped down from the window sill landing on the floor. She looked up at the woman and at the man with her big green eyes and gave a mew of thanks hopeing the humans would understand. Looking around the house Kioko spotted a small spider crawling across the floor and padded slowly forward and pounceing on the small insect. Carefully uncovering her paws and picking up the spider in her small mouth she bounced happily back over to the woman who had let her in dropped it at her feet as a token of apprechiation.

Vince smiled wanly at the small, glittering ball of fur and weapons-grade cuteness that'd skipped through the window. It certainly didn't look like anything he'd seen before, but it looked fairly harmless. "I think it likes you," Said Vince, nodding to the small tangle on legs in the... thing's mouth. He was glad for the distraction. Melissa had definately been hinting at something, and he was duly glad for something else to think about.

Melissa watched with adoration in her eyes as the muse came in and gave a little mew, clearly grateful. The little creature attacked and brought over a spider to Melissa and Vince commented on how it seemed to like her. "Yes our little friend certainly does seem to be fond of me." She said as she crouched down to pick up the spider in one hand and extended the other to the muse.
"Come on little one, we'll find you something to eat, you look famished." She said as her palm was turned upright to allow the little being to climb up.

Kioko gave a happy mew and jumped into the womans arms happy that she was finally going to get some human food. She had grown addicted to the stuff wile she was in Navalen, it was her treat after inspireing some of the architects and artists in the area. With another mew happy mew she let out a soft reverberateing purr.

Vince smiled benignly at the small animal. "So what d'you think it is, anyway?" He asked. Well, what could he expect it to be? Looked like a cross between a squirrel, a cat and a barrel of tinsel pieces, though you could be damn well sure that wasn't it's actual name.
