Studying the tunnels

[Jyo]

Jyo gave a smile.
"Well it seems you did pretty well on this trip. I'm still amazed at this room. There's so much in here and from so many different races. Perhaps they were preparing for some sort of mass extinction, I mean this is too well laid out for someone to not be able to study it all with ease." Jyo said as he looked around. So many statues and books which likely detailed the history of this part of the world.

"It's amazing, and almost creepy in some way if you think about it like that. I wonder what it was they saw coming?' He said softly.

[Evey]

Audra looked up at the ceiling, lost in thought. What could have brang a large group of every known race to hide there history and most important artifacts. Were they hopeing to be known throughout history? To be preserved? Then she thought about Jyos words of mass extintion. "These must date back to the beginin' of the war. . . they all must have thought that they would die and their memorys and cultures forgoten in the myst of time." Audra said looking from the ceiling to Jyo.

"That is a great breakthrough really and would discribe why the tunnels suposedly reach from Navalen to Zationia. There must have been a underground movement, or cult, made specificly for the purpose of keeping the races history alive and preserved." Running her hand through her blue-black hair she smiled. "This is wonderful." Audra said with a smile and let out a small breathless laugh.

[Jyo]

Jyo looked around the room, and while it was still amazing, there was something eerie about it now when he actually thought about it. Though the idea of so many people being unified to preserve each other's memories gave Jyo a warm feeling.

"I guess that this is also proof that there is a possibility that our races can co-exist without quarrels. Perhaps when what you have discovered down here is made common knowledge, people will think about how they can work together instead of how to cut each other down." He said before giving a sad smile.
"I know, a rather unrealistic thought, but it's a nice one."

[Evey]

Audra nodded with a small smile.
"Maybe one day we can have peace . . . between both Navalen and Zationia and all of the races. . . we just have to learn to see past eachothers--" A large tremor cut her off as she tried to keep balanced. The ground and walls shook sending rocks hurtleing down from the ceiling onto the presious artifacts below. "This can't be good!" Audra exclamed as she grabbed a few statues and put them into her napsack.

"Grab what you can and run!" She yelled as she grabbed a few more artifacts that were within' her reach. I hope this thing doesn't cave in before we get our arses out of here! She thought franticly as she made her way toward the door grabbing whatever would fit into her knapsack.

[Jyo]

Jyo narrowed his eyes as he realized what was happening, and it wasn't good. Grabbing several artifacts and putting them in his bag, Jyo moved with all the speed he could muster. This made him able to grab at least one thing from each display area. He left nothing but a red and brown streak behind him as lightning crackled off his body charging his muscles and letting him move faster than normal.

Once he had grabbed some artifacts he headed to the door and looked up to see the rocks tumbling down. Throwing his bag through the doorway and just as the rocks were about to hit, he got behind Audra who was still grabbing artifacts with desperation while she made her way to the door..
"Time to get out of here." He said as he slipped an arm around her waist and jumped. using all the speed he could muster right as the rocks hit the ground behind them.

Landing on the ground Jyo wiped his brow.
"That last bit wasn't all that fun to be honest." He said as he looked over to Audra.
"Are you alright?" he asked.

[Evey]

Audra firmly gripped the artifacts in her arms keeping it close agenst her body as she scurried twords the door. Out of the corner of her eye she noticed the figure of Jyo zipping around the room as he grabbed at least one artifact from every race and ran up and grabbed her by the waist pulling both her and himself out of the chaimber before the ceiling clapsed in on itself.

"Omph!" Audra grunted as she layed on the ground watching smoke rise from the rubble that was once Audra's greatist find. "Ugh . . . not fun at all and . . ." She looked over her body as she stood up from the stone ground with the bag of artifacts still clutched in her arms. "Nothin' broken." She said with a smile as she whiped the dust that was clinging to her face.

"Are you alright?" Audra asked in a concered tone as she eyed Jyo.

[Jyo]

"Glad to hear you're alright." Jyo said as he got to his feet and brushed himself off. There was a lot of dust. he looked over at Audra and grinned to try and ease away the concern he had detected in her voice.
"I'm alright, a few cuts and scrapes here and there. Annoying but not harmful." He said as he felt a trickle on his left eyebrow and wiped at it, and his fingers came away wet with blood.

He checked the wound, it wasn't serious, a small cut really, head wounds just bled a lot. he gave a laugh.
"I guess I'll need a bath." he said and his chuckled died away quickly.
"So much knowledge and history damaged." He said softly. Holding out his bag to Audra he gave a soft smile.
"Books, chronicling any information on each race up to the time these things were stored there. it's all I could get, but I hope the knowledge of who they were will make up for any precious statue or such thing that was lost." He said gently. He knew Audra had lost so much back there, he hoped the knowledge of the people she was studying would help soften the blow.

[Evey]

Audra gave a small smile as Jyo confirmed he was ok. "That is a releif." She said as she leaned ageinst the wall of the cavern letting out a small sigh. Her gaze fell upon the jagged edges of the clapsed cavern and she bit her lip as she thought about all of the years of history and artifacts that were now nothing but heeps of rubble.

Audra's green eyes looked over at Jyo as he offered her the bag of artifacts that he had gathered before the clapse. "Thank you so much . . ."She said softly as she reached out and gently took the bag out of his hands. "I'm just glad that you got out ok, the past is nothing but recorded events and memorys"

[Jyo]

Jyo gave a small shrug.
"I appreciate your concern." He said with a smile as he let her take the bag from him. He was sure she would want to look through the books and scrolls he had collected during their mad dash to escape.

"Perhaps with what you are able to bring back you can get a team together to dig this out again. Not all of those relics can be lost from that. Any of them would be worth saving and bringing back out." he said.

[Evey]

"I think that i could probibly get a few of my friends from the waste to come out here. They probibly wouldn't mind getting their hands a bit dirty." Audra said with a smile as she thought of Xander and Tray. They would both come here in a flash if she mentioned the big find that was now covered by a layer of stone and rubble.

"Your probibly right some of the artifacts may have survived, so its worth checking it out." Audra said thinking about all of the books and statues that had lined the inside of the cavern. "But I think I have had enough excitement for one day."

[Jyo]

Jyo gave a nod.
"I agree, nearly being crushed is really enough for one day that was meant for relaxation." He said as he looked back to the rubble that had nearly crushed them.
"A pity we won't get to study more in leisure. I'll most likely be gone by the time you start working one this." He said with a shrug before turning to head out of the tunnles. Jyo had really found enough to hold his attention for a while, but the rest of the things in there had been interesting to say the least.

[Evey]

"So true. . . Ahhh well, hopefully I'll see ya around Jyo." Audra said with a smile turning back on her headlamp and traceing her fingers on the walls. "I think that I may stay down here for a bit longer. . . see what else I can find before I have to go back to the Waste." With a small smile she turned her head back to the walls and grabbed out her small notebook silently trying to decode the tunnels many secrets.
