Doctor Jada Burningham tapped her pencil on the desk in impatience. She was sitting in her office at the end of the Harbor. She told Evey Saunders two days ago not to forget her appointment. Of course, she probably forgot.
The clock stroke 1:00. Evey always forgot. But she gets here....eventually.
Jada was actually pretty good friends with Evey. jada had worked on her brother, Mick. She had to make half of his body robotic. That was her least favorite memory of being a doctor. But at least she saved him.
Jada sighed and sat back in her chair. She took her glasses off and rub her eyes. Why must Evey procrastinate?, Jada thought. The tick tock of the clock annoyed her. She had so many other patients., Evey better get there soon.

There was a loud scream that echoed through the streets of the harbor. A man gathered his fruits and vegetables off the ground as he watched in distaste at the zoomer speeding off in to the distance. Evey's zoomer.
Evey sped through the streets, adjusting the hight of the flying vehicle to get around traffic. "I'm late aren't I?" She asked herself with a small grin as she waived in and out of traffic. She always seemed to be late to every appointment with her doctor, Jada. Evey now took it to be like a customary tradition to be at least thirty minutes late to each appointment see was given.
She slowed down as she approached the doctors office dismounting the zoomer and grabbing her staff to take in with her. She put the goggles that she had been waring over her eyes on top of her head and walked opened up the door to the office. Jingling The door chimed as she walked in with a smile painted across her face.
"'Ello all!" She said cheerfully to the people sitting in the waiting room who immediately looked up from the magazines the were reading to give her a criticizing glare. "Jeez..." She said analyzing the peoples faces. Oh well...She thought as she went to the front desk of the doctors office.
"I have a appointment with Dr. Jada Burningham." She said to the woman as she leaned forward on the cold stone desk.

A woman knocked on Jada's door. Jada opened it.
"Evey Saunder is here to see you." She told her. "Room 9."
"Finally," Jada sighed. She picked her clipboard off the desk and shoved past the woman to Room 9.
Before opening the door, she put on a friendly smile. She opened the door to see Evey sitting on the examination bed. She smiled.
"Evey, great to see you again." Jada faked. She was really good friends with the girl, but got annoyed by her very easily.
She set her clipboard on the sink and sat on a stool. "I can't wait to hear what your excuse is on why you were late today!" Jada exclaimed.

"Aww well doc, you don't gotta be so harsh." Evey said with a smile as she saw how mad Jada had gotten from her late arrival. "I needed my eight hours of sleep and my apple for the day." She smiled at the apple comment It didn't keep her away though. . . Evey thought with a grin as she remembered the old ryhme.
"So . . . Whats up doc?" Evey asked smileing and kicking her legs impatently agenst the examination table. She hated doing this check up thing, to her it was a complete and utter waste of her time. The only reson she didn't sipriceless thing was Jada's face when she came in late to each appointment.

"Okay, Evey." Jada laughed. She wasn't actually mad at her. She was actually very good friends with her.
"How is your brother, Mick?" Jada asked. One of her former patients. "I never get to see him anymore. The three of us should have lunch together one day. On me." She smiled. She just felt weird since she had to make Mick half a robot. But it was the only way to save him.

"Oh, Mick is doin' the same as always, still looks like he has a stick stuck up his arse but other than that he is doin' good." Evey smiled at her little joke, it was always funny to make fun of her brother and how uptight he always seemed. Yes of course he did have some sence of humor, but it was about as effective as if road kill had told you some kind of joke.
"So are we gonna get this overwith so I can leave?" Evey said impatiently as she tapped her hand agenst the examination table. Why dose this take forever!

Jada sighed as she thought about the conversation she was about to have. "This isn't gonna be the regular doctor visit, Evey." Jada told her. She tapped her pencil on the desk as she bit her lip.
"Other people have talked to me and they told me you were on a raid another day. And for some odd reason, you keep getting caught up in 'em." She sighed. "So, they asked me to talk to you to ask you to stop getting into these raids. Some of your friends think your gonna wind up dead.............including me." Jada sighed.

"Aww, you don't gotta worry bout me none." Evey said as she looked at Jada, her blue eyes full of a anoyance. "I honestly don't know why you bother, it's not like your my mother or anything."She couldn't belief that her doctor was going to tell her that she is not suposed to go and raid enemy citys. Its her life? Why should everybody be worried about if I go and shank a few Navalins? Evey thought angerly as she sat on the examination table.
"I can do what I want your words aren't goin' to affect my actions." Evey said getting ready to stand up and leave, she wasn't going to stay and listen to her own docter tell her what she could or could not do like she was some absant minded little kid.

Jada suddenly got enraged. She walked over to Evey and looked her dead in the eye as her pupils got bigger. "Go. Sit. Down." Evey obeyed the command. Jada had always loved her power of hypnotism.
Evey sat back on the examination table and Jada sat back down on the stool. Evey was still under her influence. "Evey!" She yelled, snapping her fingers. Evey popped out of a trance. "Don't make me do that again." She sighed.
"Now, Evey, I'm not trying to make you do anything. But you have to admit, these raids are dangerous. I heard about that raid they other day. You almost drowned and I heard Zeke got shot! You should have came to me right away when you got back on your wind sailer." Jada told her.
"Evey, I don't want to do to you like what I had to do with your brother." Jada choked. "I can't go through that again. Especially with a close friend."

Evey looked into Jada's eyes and could feel the force inside her head. As she sat down as was let out of the forced trance she let out a growl. "If you cared and were my friend then ya woulda known how much that pisses me off." Evey closed her eyes, she hated the idea of being controlled by anothers will. And she was not going to be used by anyone.
Slowly opening her eyes, ignoreing Jada's words of being careful and stopping the raids she clicked her fingers and the world stood still. Eveys glowing white eyes looked over Jada's frozen figure. She won't even know I'm gone. . . She thought as she stepped out of the door, grabbing her staff on the way.
"I hate doctor's apointments." She said in a voice that was different from her own, more hollow and unfriendly. Twirling her staff around once out of habbet she walked out of the door of the doctor's office letting go of time as she did so.

Jada was brought back from time. She looked around and didn't see Evey anywhere. Jada rolled her eyes and grunted. "Why are teenagers always so difficult?" She asked herself out loud.
Jada stomped back in her office. She threw off her lab coat and got her stun gun out of her pocket. She came out to the main lobby and whispered to the receptionist. "Cancel all my appointments until I get back."
Jada sighed as she walked through the streets of the harbor, trying to find Evey. She spotted her walking by a narrow alleyway. Jada quietly tip-toed up to her back and turned her around by her shoulder. Jada's pupils were already big and this time she wasn't going to let Evey out of the trance.

Evey heard the sound of footsteps from behind her and felt a tug at the shoulder and she got wipped around to face Jada. She could feel the womans presence in her mind, and bit her lip out of habbit. I'm not as think as you stupid I am. Evey thought with a smile and looked at Jada her bright white eyes flareing as she let out a smile.
"Stareing isn't polite you know." Evey said in a hollow voice as a small smile creeped across her face. Your not gonna win that easily . . . A few small white sparks flashed from Evey's hand as she gripped her staff waiting for her doctor to make her move.

Jada huffed. Great. My influence isn't working anymore...Jada watched Evey gripped her staff. "Now don't try anything on me, Evey Saunders!" She said. "I know your every move."
Jada kept her stun gun at her side. She didn't plan on using it on Evey...but if she has to...she has to. "Evey, let's no fight. I just want you to hear me out. Your gonna kill yourself over a pointless war!"

"Its only pointless to you cause you don't understand it!" Evey eyes glowed like white embers fed by her raw emotions. Clenching her staff, her nuckles turning white she stood there the beating of her heart filling her ears.
"You'll never understand . . ." She said in a wisper as she looked at Jada waiting for her to make the first move. Don't tred on me . . .

"Never understand, huh?" Jada asked in a calm, smooth voice. "Understand what? Why two cities are fighting over nothing? Killing innocent people to prove that their stronger? This war has been going on for years and what has happened?" Jada paused. "Nothing at all. Navalen hasn't won, Zationia hasn't won. Nothing will ever happen." She said loud and clear. "Why risk your life for something that will never change, Evey? Why? What about your brother, Mick? What do you think he would do if you get killed? What about Zeke? What if you get him killed with one of your famous Navalen raids. Evey, sometimes I wonder if there is even a brain in your head." She finished.

Evey shook her head and looked at Jada. "All you see is the political aspect of this. You have never been in the heat of battle, watched as the enemy trys to overpower you. You have never seen the look on your mothers face as she was stabbed to death, and be helpless to stop it." She staired at Jada as the painful thoughts of the blood on the floor and the bloodthirsty look on the mans face as he dropped the limp body to the floor.
"Its never what your fighting for . . . its what your fighting agenst, and Mick will tell you the same thing . . ." Evey said thinking about her brother and how he went to fight in battle for the glory and for revenge.

"Yeah, Mick almost lost his life doing it. Didn't he?" Jada asked. "I had to make him almost half robotic. You know how much that killed me inside. If he wasn't in that battle, that would never have happened to him." Jada almost yelled.

"And he will tell you he did it with honor, for Zationia. He may have lost his lower leg and his upper arm, beleive me it's a blessing he is still alive. But he was prepaired to loose his life for the protection of us all. " Evey said her staff glowing with her built up emotional stress.

Jada sighed and rubbed her temples. "Ah, Evey...you and Mick are so smart, but yet so foolish. Why?' She brought her hand back down inside her pocket. Sher looked at her watch. "I don't have time for this, I have to be at the library in the Inner City in a half an hour. Good bye, Evey..." Before Jada could turn away she looked at Evey. "And don't try to hit me when I turn around." She turned around and started to walk away.

"Well fine you go ahead and walk away and STAY OUT ****ING MIND!" Evey yelled closeing her eyes to get contol of her powers. Letting out a sigh she opened her eyes all signs of the firey white inferno in her icy blue eyes. Gripping her staff and twirling it around she turned her back to Jada, heading the other direction her anger gripping at her. She will never understand untill everything she has has been taken away. Slowly she walked twords her parked zoomer the clicking of her boots echoing through the allyway.
"And have fun with your little books!" She yelled hopping on her zoomer and turning the key letting it float into the air. Stepping on the gas petal she sped of without another word to Jada. Slipping on her goggles she raced into the streets.
