"It's the only city I could think of that is close to where I landed." Yvaine said, pulling away from Tara and starting to limp on her own. She just wanted to get to the Outlander's City and find somewhere to sleep for the day. She glanced at Tara and turned her glance back to the forest again.
She spotted something on the ground next to a tree. Yvaine crouched down and picked it up. It was a Long Bow with a few arrows next to it. "This may come in handy." She put the arrows on her back and carried the Long Bow in her hands. She had seen people fight with these for centuries. She was sure she could handle the bow.

Tara looked at the longbow quizzically and unslung her Thompson. She glanced around, somewhat warily, gun in hands. "Who d'you think might've left it?" Okay, a bit of a long shot, but Yvaine had spent ten and a half centuries (nearly) looking down on stuff and she might have a vague idea. Certainly better than someone who's spent ten years on land.

Yvaine studied the Long Bow and looked back at Tara. "Truthfully, I don't know." She started to walk, well limp, through the forest. "For the last few months, I've been looking over Navalen. It's hard for a star to travel in the sky. Now...it's not so hard." She took one arrow out and got out the bow. She angled it toward an apple, dangling from a tree nearby. She let go and hit right into the center of the apple. She had seen humans do it for centuries. She knew how to handle it. She smiled and continued to walk on.

Tara raised her eyebrows appreciativly. She certainly couldn't of shot an apple of a tree, at least, not if you prized the tree especially. The Thompson was not made for precision work. "Why Navalen?" She asked, trotting up alongside Yvaine "I know it's a fancy place, but any particular reason?"

Yvaine looked back at Tara. "Well, I couldn't really control where I was in the sky. I pretty much circled Tragonia. I don't know how I moved, but I did. For some reason I was over Navalen." Yvaine shrugged as she tore the apple off the branch. "Why do people put these things in their mouths?' She asked. She always found humans interesting. She didn't know why they would put thing in their mouths.

Tara wasn't a biologist, even regarding seals, but this was elementary stuff. This, she could handle. "Well, you get hungry, you bite the things," She said, in what she hoped wasn't a condescending tone "you chew, you swallow," She slung the gun across her back.

"Well...I am in human form...I guess I need to then." Yvaine shrugged. She bite into the apple and let it slide down her throat. The taste as good. It was sweet and tasty. "That's actually really good." Yvaine threw it down to the ground and made sure her bow was safely on her back and started to walk through the forest again. "So, you said the Outlander's City was this way?"

Tara bit her lip, the steady drip of uncertainty gradually falling out of the fuel tank of her belief. "Er, I think so," She said, wavering a little "Ideally I'd have a map, but at my best guess, I think it's this way," Unfortunately, her guess didn't include the fact there was a desert in the way, but hey, it's detail

Yvaine nodded and kept walking in that direction. She wasn't sure what she as going to do when she got to the City. She knew that most humans would have something called a job, that would give them money. Yvaine was pretty sure money helped you do things in Tragonia.
Yvaine maneuvered her way through the trees and looked back to see if Tara was following her. She wasn't sure why Tara had kept up with her for most of the time. Yvaine didn't care though. All she cared about was the city. She started to think of jobs. "Tara, what type of job do you have?"

Tara raised an eyebrow. "Er, job?" She was aware of the concept, that you did work and got paid and bought things, like food, but she couldn't personally see why bother "No-o, I don't think I work. I hunt, 'n stuff, but no, not work, so to speak," After all, what use has a seal for money?

Yvaine huffed. "Lovely." She turned around and looked at Tara. "Why are you still following me?" Yvaine just had to ask. She couldn't take it anymore. She just wanted to get to that damn city, a good damn bed, because the sun would be up soon. At least the feeling in her stomach had gone away when she ate that apple. She glared at Tara, waiting for an answer.

Tara held up both hands in innocence. "Fair enough," She said, smiling faintly "If you want to limp home alone, feel free. Just trying to be helpful, but if you want to be alone, alright," Tara didn't know what reverse psychology was, and certainly wasn't attempting it.

Yvaine sighed as her shoulders shrugged. "Sorry...I'm just...kinda in shock right now. For almost two centuries, I've been a star, and now suddenly, I'm human." She said looking down at her body. "Sorry, I'm just...jumpy."
Yvaine wasn't sure who she could trust in the real world. She had watched people get murdered and robbed by the ones they trusted. Yvaine wasn't sure she could fit in here pretty well. But she knew she was rude to Tara and owed her an apology. "I'm sorry."

"Fair enough," Said Tara, sympathetically "I had pretty much the same thing," She smiled and shrugged. "You know when the first fish clambered out onto dry land? It's like going from that to human being in five minutes rather than a couple of million years. And hey, you got to study beforehand. My first encounter with people was scooching away from men with big clubs,"

Yvaine cringed. She remembered one day when she was a young star, watching a Selkie get beat up on the shores of Zationia. "I know what you mean. I've seen it happen before." She said, turning around and starting to limp farther into the thick vines of the forgotten Avalon City.
Yvaine took one vine in her hand as she followed it to one of the high pillars of the lost palace. "I wonder why this place was abandoned." She pondered out loud. She remembered watching this thing flourish as she grew up, and then die as she grew older.

Tara looked at the pillars and assorted collapsed architecture. "Maybe they all got bored and went somwhere else," She said, brushing a piece of stone lightly "Or realised exactly what a pile of crap civilisation actually is,"

"I don't know about that." Yvaine told Tara. "This place used to be beautiful and lively. It was so much fun to watch at night. A few centuries ago, I left this place lively and colorful. Then I went to Zationia. When I came back, this place was gone. Only ruins were left." Yvaine said.

"Shit," Said Tara, half sympathetic "Must've been a bit of a shock, eh?" She gave a small stone a kick into the undergrowth and glanced around, just checking... "So who d'you think tried to get you down, then? I mean, no one just throws a necklace up in the air, really,"

"Yes, it was a big shock. Then the vines started to grow and the palace was overtaken." Yvaine told Tara.
"It wasn't just a random person who threw a necklace in the sky. The necklace is magic. It has the power to shoot into the sky, hit a star, and start the transformation to human form." Yvaine said, holding the necklace up to study it. A very powerful magic. Sometimes, the necklace was enchanted on it's on, sometimes, every rarely, a witch enchanted it as an experiment." Yvaine told her. "I don't know what this necklace is though."

"How does it manage that?" Asked Tara, someone who knew 'magic' was never a good enough excuse "And more to the point, who threw it? I mean, you go to all the trouble of procuring a magical necklace, you don't just throw it up to see if it works, will you?" And more to another point, why go to all that trouble? What was in it for them?
