"I come close enough to dying enough, thanks very much," Vince picked up his rifle, now it wasn't on fire, and indeed, never had been. The barrel was still warm though "If I thought about it, I'd never get anything done," He turned around and walked off. "And good luck with everything, 'specially the girl," He gave one momentous grin and dashed off, leaving a pile of someone else's belongings, a concussed cat and a facially damaged wolf as a testament.

Darren watched as Vince dashed off into the distance. The sword felt heavy in his hand and weighed him down like a heavy brick. His arm dropped to the side and the sword clattered onto the floor. He surveyed the damage around the campsite. The tents were destroyed but their materials salvageable, Rihimos was out cold though would recover, he was a tough cat. And his belongings lay strewn across the clearing. He was going to have a hard time repairing all this. His money was still attached to his torn trousers amazingly enough all the marks were there. He began to feel light headed. He had used magic before but not so soon after two rapid changes. He felt like he was falling and that his body lost all support. But before he gave up he turned his heavy head toward Audra.
"Looks like I've got some cleaning to do 'eh? But I can't keep travelling alone like this. Eventually I'm going to meet my match and that'll be it" Every word felt like another battle "I was wondering if you need a travelling companion cause I could...." He never got to finish the depletion of his reserve energy on the magic was to great and the physical stress he'd put on his body when he changed was too much. A crashing wave of darkness fell upon his eyes and he felt himself fall. Two things ran through his mind. First he needed training in his magic, he couldn't keep drawing this much energy for everything and two, what Vince had said.
"And good luck with everything, 'specially the girl,"

Audra lifted her head off the moss covered ground the blood on her face illuminated by the dappled rays of moonlight that made its way through the thick canopy of leaves. She staired at Darren's camp seeing the distruction the man had caused to the whole of Darren's belongings. With a low wine Audra turned her head as the sound of Darren's sword hitting the ground reached her ears.
"Looks like I've got some cleaning to do 'eh? But I can't keep travelling alone like this. Eventually I'm going to meet my match and that'll be it. I was wondering if you need a travelling companion cause I could...." Darren trailed off as he fell to the ground with a thud.
Audra wined and got up on trembleing leggs to hobble over to were Darren's body laid. She curled up by his side laying her head on her paws thinking about his inventation to roam the wilderness.

It was sometime later when Darren woke up, the exhaustion was not to great but he still felt tired he could feel Audra in her wolf form by his legs. He scooted out slightly so he didn't disturb her. He took apart the ruined tents and shredded the fabric. He would have some work to do... After an hour of work Darren had made a new set of bags to replace his old ones, a leather blanket out of the tent, a small cooking pot from the animal hides and finally a new scabbard for his sword to carry on his back. Using all the materials he had cleaned most of the campsite, only a few pieces remained and he tied those to a bag on his side. He could still see Audra, walking up to her slowly he gently ruffled her fur so that she wake up. It was time for him to go and he didn't want to leave without saying could bye. He was sure that Audra liked him as a friend but doubted much more and was even more certain that she wouldn't take him up on his offer. However he hoped that she would say 'yes' to him and allowing him to travel with her but it was a 'wimiscal' dream.
"Audra? Audra? Are you awake?" He waited till she was awake "I've got to head out now. I'd just like to say it was an honour fighting and meeting you." He hoped that she'd stop him and tell him that he was welcome to come along with her or that she'd say yes to going with him.

Tray Quinn walked into the Canyon. His friend, Xander had told him earlier he hadn't seen Audra in a day. And he usually can't get rid of her. Tray followed Audra's scent to here. Why would Audra be here? Tray asked himself.
Audra and Tray had always been good friends. Audra was like the little sister he never had. They were both orphans. They worked together. Tray had been with Audra through thick and thin and he wanted to find her. She was like family to him and even more to Xander. Tray knew that Xander had always liked Audra.
He put his nose to the ground. The earth was warm with the sun beating down on it. He really wanted to shape-shift today. He thought he could...he had his extra clothes with him in a small bag. He quickly changed as his clothes shredded to the ground.
Tray was now in his form. The huge tiger he loved to change into to. He shook his fur. It felt so good to shift. He saw the bag where he dropped it. He took it by the strap and flung it over his neck. He started to run through the forest surrounding the canyon. He loved the wind brushing his fur. He finally found more of Audra's scent.
Then he came to a campsite. A man stood by a wolf. He could tell the man's scent...but where was Audra. Could she be the wolf? Tray asked himself. He stayed in the bushes and waited.
Xander wandered into the Waterfall Canyon's forest. He didn't know where Tray was before he saw his buggy parked in the entrance to the Canyon.
Xander was nervous and curious. His friend, co-worker and client, Audra Negron, hadn't checked in on him since two days ago. That wasn't like Audra at all. He was worried. Audra was much more than a friend to him. Yes, he had a major crush on Audra for years. At first, she was just a really good friend and then it became more for Xander.
Xander stomach twisted as he looked down at the ground. He crouched down as some morning fog danced above the ground. He saw Tray's clothes scattered everywhere in shreds. Xander gulped.
He got up and rested against a tree. He brushed his bangs up and noticed he was sweating ridiculously. "What the hell?" He asked himself out loud. "Aw, shit." He whispered to himself. He took a cigarette out of his pocket and lit it up. He blew a ring of smoke. He remembered Audra's saying. "Hey, Xander...still puffin' those cancer sticks, I can see." Xander laughed at the memory. I have to find her, he told himself. He put the cigarette in his mouth and walked in a direction he randomly picked.

Fire crackled menacingly around the forest. Showers of sparks rose into the air like angry fireflys, setting ablaze anything they tutched. Audra ran, her breathing was ragged and she coughed as smoke filled her lungs. "Can someone help me!" She screamed through the crackleing flames as they nipped angerly at the heals of her human feet.
"Audra? Audra?" A voice said, cool and calming extinguishing the crackleing flames in one sweep. " Are you awake?"
Audra opened her eyes slowly, and shook her head trying to dispell the tarafing dream she had just had. With a small yawn she looked up to see Darren's body above her.
"I've got to head out now. I'd just like to say it was an honour fighting and meeting you."
He is leaveing? She thought giveing a small wine. She wanted to go with him and wanted to race. But I can't tell him. She thought as she rubbed her paw agenst the dried blood on the side of her face. If I change now it will leave a huge scar on the side of my face.Looking up at Darren with a sign of defet in her eyes, hopeing silently that he would understand that she wanted to go and stay too.

Darren couldn't help but feel slightly bad at deciding to leave but it was going to happen. He looked back at Audra who was still stuck as a wolf. The cut across her face would heal but not yet, she'd have to change soon. He looked into her face and couldn't help but see a look of defeat or possibly remorse on her face. Who was he kidding he wasn't going anywhere. Not in this state anyhow. He dropped the pack on his back and dropped his sword as well. He knelt in front of Audra and gently rubbed her head.
"I'm not going anywhere any time soon." He said to her "But you need more rest if that gash is going to heal. Sleep or nap or just relax but I'll still be here."
No more running from the rest of the world, if he was going to accept that he'd done wrong and that he'd atoned for it he was going to have to start somewhere. Though looking at Audra's face even as a wolf he couldn't help but feel...more.

Tray Quinn watched from the camouflage of the trees and bushes. The wolf had a large cut on it's face. If it was Audra, she wouldn't be able to shift back until it was healed.
He paced back and forth on his large tiger paws. He was more than worried. He just hoped the wound would heal up quickly so he could talk to her. He rested by a large tree and all he could do was wait.
Xander stumbled through the Canyon. He was sweating relentlessly. He just hoped Audra was here...somewhere. He came to a clearing but stayed in the bushes.
There was a man with a wolf. The wolf spotted him. It looked him dead in the eye. Xander gulped and quickly backed up and walked the other way.

Audra lifted her head and tilted her head to the side. Did he just offer to stay? She asked herself her tail wagging a little from side to side. The wind changed directions, and Audra caught a wiff of human . . . and was that tiger? Turning her head from Darren's gaze she looked over to the bushes and between the trees letting out a low growl as she did so. Sniffing the air she reconized the one sent. Xander?!?
Combing the treeline with her dark green eyes she searched for him. This is bad . . . Xander didn't know that she was a shifter, really there was only a few people who knew. I bet he is worrying his head o- Before she could finish her thought she spotted his figure walking through the forest. She felt the need to go and confort him, but she glanced over to Darren. What am I to do?

Darren, who was still sat by Audra, felt her tense a little. Feeling a little more alert her followed her line of sight but couldn't see anything. He turned to his nose instead and let the scents of the forest carry the smell of whatever was out there to him. He smelt two other people. One was more faint than the other, they must be in different places. However one was closer. Darren rose up from sitting and scanned the trees again. He made out the rough silhouette of a person near the trees. Grabbing his sword from the scabbard he held it in front of him. He was pretty tall so enough not to be intimidated easily. His brown skin was marred with blood in the fight with Vince and flecks of it gave a reddish tint to his black hair. He wasn't in any shape to fight, but Audra needed time to recover so he could stall maybe. He coughed a little and shouted out into the trees.
"Whoever is out there! Face me now!"
It was stupid and reckless and he couldn't afford a confrontation but he would fight again if he had too. Though what if help was out there. He'd welcome any help. It was a 50-50 shot.

Xander heard the man shout something, but didn't pay any attention to it. He had no time to. He had to find Audra as quick as possible.
Tray watched Xander walk away form across the trees. I have to tell him! Tray shouted. But he didn't want to leave sight of Audra. If she was the wolf...
Xander still wandered through the trees, but didn't see Audra anywhere. Maybe I should go back and ask that guy...Xander thought. Xander started through the thick forest again and headed back to that camp.
Tray swung his bag of clothes to the ground and turned into a wolf. Maybe him and Audra would be able to communicate better. Tray wasn't sure about the guy though. He didn't know if he could trust him or not.
Tray pulled out a picture of Audra in his bag and a picture of him. Maybe if he showed it to the wolf, she would howl and say she was Audra. Tray just hoped it would work.

Audra watched as Darren pulled out his sword and yell out to Xander. Awww Jeez! She thought wondering what she was going to do now. With a small wine she looked up at Darren trying to voice the fact that she knew this man. You don't have to hurt him! She screamed in her head as she searched the treeline for Xanders figure. Please don't get yourself into a bunch of troubble. Audra pleaded silently her ears laying back on her head from worry.

Darren continued to held the sword in front of him but another coughing fit began. Well that was stupid, issue a challenge and be in no shape to accept it. He need to heal, he needed to shift. But if he shifted whatever may come and attack him in mid shift. But he wanted to protect Audra. He mentally pounded himself. Before he could dwell on it any longer he dropped his sword and began to shift for the 3rd time. Before he began to start a thought flowered in his head. Dammit I'm gonna be so sore when I turn human again He changed in record time it'd taken him under 30 seconds to do it. It would cause him many problems later but for now he'd be able protect or at least talk to Audra.

Tray stepped over to the wolf, he believed was Audra. He put the two pictures in front of her face. He whined a little. He hit his paw to the picture of himself and then brought that paw up to himself. He pressed his paw to the picture of Audra and pointed at her. He turned his head to the side to ask the question. he just really prayed it was Audra. He payed no attention to the man, who he didn't notice had shifted.
Xander finally came to a clearing. He looked through a hole in the bushes. There were three wolves now?! What the hell is going on here? Xander unstrapped his sword and held it at his side, just in case. He didn't know if these wolves were friendly or not. Even if they were human or not. Xander paced back and forth, waiting for something to happen.

Audra watched as the bushes parted, giveing way to another wolf. She let out a small growl, riseing slowly to her aching feet to inspect the newcomer. The wolf carried two pictures, one of Audra leaning causaly against her old buggy and one of Tray pretending to drive his buggy. The wolf dropped the pictures to the ground and pointed to Trays picture with its paw and then pointing to itself. Tray? Wait, he is a shifter too? Audra asked herself streighting up a bit. As the wolf pointed to her picture and then to her she let out a howl.
Hope it answers your question . . .Audra said streaching a little, her blue pelt shineing in the noonday sun. Looking over she noticed Darren too had changed into his wolf form. "Its a party isn't it?" She barked looking at the two wolfs waiting for a reply.

Darren got up and stretched his new limbs though it was costly he greatly enjoyed stretching his new muscles and limbs whenever he shifted. Twisting his neck a little to work out the last of the discomfort of the change he saw the wolf come over and place a picture in front of Audra. He couldn't help but let loose a little growl at the new wolf, he didn't seem unfriendly so Darren abided by staying out of its way. The wolf placed its paw on the picture and moved between two people. One showed Audra and the other showed someone else. Oh.... It made sense, the two must know each other. Feeling rather stupid Darren whined and stood back from the two with his head down. Though feeling a bit stupid he still could help wonder who that other scent belonged too.
********
Rihimos blinked her eyes twice, that bloody robber knocked her out. She used her paw to comb through the fur at the top of her head and winced. Well that bruise in the morning. She stood on all four paws and strode over to were a few black blotches in her vision were, thinking they must be Audra and Darren. As she crept over her vision began to clear and she noticed that Audra and Darren were crouched so were obviously wolves at the moment but there was a third figure crouched as well. She was comfortable around Darren as a wolf and adapting to Audra but who was this new character? Feeling nervous she jumped onto Darren back and folded her paws under her chin and lay on his back. A cat and, a wolf she couldn't help but laugh in her head at the appeal that existed after over 10 years.
OOC: Sorry Audra for disappearing in the c-box, family crises so I had to leave without saying. Also check out my new character in the accepted character page, she's called Aries Winterbourne and you may be interested cause she'll appear in this thread.

Audra smiled as she watched Darren's cat climb up onto his back and curled up and stare at Tray with curious eyes. Poor cat must be so confused right now. She thought as she looked over into the bushes noticeing the form of Xander with his sword clenched in his hand, a cigerette in his other hand. Still puffing on those cancer sticks I see. Audra thought as she watched him take another puff and blew the smoke into the sky, the wind making it disaper as fast as it was make.
Audra staired at Xander hopeing he wasn't going to start swinging around the sword he had. Mabey I can calm him down or something . . . She thought starting to slowly walk forward twoards him her head lowered and her green eyes looking upward trying to silently convey her message of peice.

Tray howled in joy knowing that he had actually found Audra. He shook his dark gray fur and looked at the other wolf. He wasn't sure if he should trust him or not. Audra was his sister from another mister, and he wasn't gonna let anybody hurt her.
Xander watched as the wolf came forward. For some reason....he felt like he knew her. Xander stepped forward out of the bushes and into the clearing.
He came to the wolf and bent down on his knees. He looked in the wolf's eyes and asked, "Audra?"

Darren was starting to feel seriously confused, he didn't know any of these other people yet Audra knew them. He turned toward the wolf who had fur a shade darker than his own grey. He yipped at him questioningly, he knew he was a friend of Audra's which was fine but who was he to her exactly? Before he could full finish the question the same scent that had been irritating him while he'd been here emerged. Turning to where Audra was walking he saw another man approach. Oh crap He was unsure what to do. He followed his instinct and moved up beside Audra and stared straight up at the man. Hell no was he gonna hurt her.

Audra let out a triumfant howl when Xander said her name. Yes he understands! She thought as she felt Darren's fur rub up ageinst hers as they stood side by side looking at Xander who was sitting on his hands and knees in front of them. Letting out a small wine she pointed to Xander with the tip of her mussel and looked at Darren trying to tell him that he was a good friend of his.
