Jyo was lifted from the ground and sent flying back, landing on his feet and grinning as he readied his blade for the next phase of attack. His opponent and pushed him away as their weapons had clashed, he had overpowered the young elementalist and sent him back with the last move.
Jyo reapplied his grip on the Katana in his left hand, his right holding the sheath and staying tense. His mind briefly flashed back to what started this battle. It was work, plain and simple. Jyo was a wandering mercenary, he needed to bring in some money.
Coming back home for a bit after two years of wandering, Jyo had been doing very well for himself lately. he decided to visit home for a while and see how things were going. After meeting up with his parents, Jyo decided to take on some work if it was needed. Apparently one the farmers was having problems with the fruits of his labors vanishing.
Jyo had decided to take a job watching over the barn where the farmer kept the spoils of his work. During the evening he heard people approaching. Finding a group of bandits, it became clear what was going on here. These people were little more than scavengers. The crackling of lightning over his body alerted the bandits. Drawing his katana, Jyo made short work of them all, except for one.
This was the man Jyo was locked into combat with. Jyo had been relishing the challenge so far, but he had a job to do. Narrowing his eyes lightning began crackling over his body as he darted in swiftly. The man had little time to react. Jyo swung with the sheath of the weapon which was blocked. Gaining the opening, Jyo let his left hand bring the Katana in and connect with the man's chest.
Jyo couldn't help but grin as the man's eyes went wide with surprise when the blade didn't cut, but instead an electrical charge built up and exploded outward, sending him flying and causing him to lose his weapon. Jyo was running right Along with him, a slash going up and another bringing the blade down made the man hit the ground in three pieces.
Jyo slid to a stop and in the moonlight it was clear that not a single speck of blood was on his blade. The movements had been too swift for that. Jyo sheathed the weapon and let out a sigh, another crackle of lightning course around his body as his eyes snapped open and he shifted his gaze to the source of a noise, a footstep to be precise. His left hand flew to the handle of his sheathed weapon. "Identify yourself." He said. Jyo was at the between point of combat mode and relaxation, he would stay that way until the newcomer revealed themselves.

Gareth stood up on a high loose tree Branch on a dying tree watching the two fight. It was more entertaining than watching the moon. when he finally could see the two, the branch broke off the tree and Gareth fell in a bush. He then got up out of the bush yelling in pain. "Ouch my tail!" Hoping no one heard him.

Jyo whirled on the spot to face the source of the exclamation created by someone who had fallen. Walking swiftly but warily, Jyo soon was close to where the source of the noise came from. Letting his piercing eyes simply stay alert he tightened the grip on his weapon.
"Come on out. If you aren't one of those bandits, I don't mean you any harm." He said. Jyo figured that if this was a bandit that he had missed, or had been hiding during the fight, the person would run off scared. If the person had another reason for being here, Jyo was simply curious.

Seeing Gareth come out and asking for this to be peaceful, Jyo let his and come away from his weapon. He still kept his guard up though. After all, it could be a trap, but he was the type willing to give the benefit of a doubt at times.
Then Gareth commented on Jyo being just another human. The red head couldn't help chuckle at the comment as a surge of lightning crackled around him. "Sorry young pup, but I'm not a human, not quite." he said with a toothy grin. Jyo had nothing against humans, but he wasn't one, not outside of his basic appearance.

Gareth looked at the lighting crackling around him "Ohh. my bad I thought you were just a human...." he then gave a half grin, "I guess I was a wrong" He then pointed out the direction the bandit went. "That person you where fighting went that way"

Jyo gave a shrug. "It's a common mistake, I look pretty damn close to one after all." He replied. Jyo wasn't offended, he just liked having it be clear that he wasn't a human.
His gaze followed where Gareth had pointed and he half-considered giving chase, but the guy had seen his buddies torn apart. Jyo doubted the man would even be back. Besides, he could wait another night for the person to come back.
"Well if he stays away then he's the lucky one, not to mention the smart one." Jyo said. His gaze shifted back to Gareth. "I'm Jyo, wandering swordsman for hire. So who am I addressing?" He asked.

"Nice to meet you Jyo" He gave a smile "Im Gareth Rehal a werewolf of Navalen" looking around where he was. "speaking of keeping out what were those people after? what was in that barn that was so important?" he practically confused himself asking the question

Jyo gave a shrug in response to the question. "As far as I can tell, just the stuff the farmer stores like his crops and so forth. It's valuable as foodstuffs, but not much else really. To a group of bandits that can't walk into a store, I would assume it's like a goldmine." Jyo replied. He did ask what was in the barn, all the farmer said was that he kept things such as food in there, and Jyo didn't ask about anymore.
"As for you, why would you be prowling along this guy's land. He doesn't exactly mind from what I can tell, but he's likely to be pretty leery these days." Jyo said. Being hired to keep the place secure, Jyo had a natural interest as to anything happening on the property after all.

Gareth, Still picking his ear, still felt uneasy by the fact that Jyo was hired to protect something he doesn't really know. "did you at least look at what was in the barn while you were guarding it?" Gareth became very suspicious of the farmer. "last I checked bandits weren't one of the hazards of farming... I dont think any one would go through that much trouble for crops."

Jyo shook his head. "No I didn't look inside. That's not why I was hired. I was hired to keep people out and that's what I'm doing. And believe me. I have run into groups like that enough time to tell you that a supply of food like that would be invaluable to such people." Jyo said with a shrug.
He narrowed his eyes. "And you still haven't answered my question, why are you on this person's land?" He asked again with a slight edge to his voice. Jyo could be pleasant for the most part, but when working he was simply polite at first. After that he was rather curt.

Gareth had sly-ish grinned. "normally when I come here I eat all the barn animals he keeps around here, but I got lazy over the times I got too lazy for killing them over and over again.... I was jus sleeping on the branch till you two came." He then stretched out an yawned.

Jyo gave a nod. "Well as I wasn't hired to protect his animals, I guess I don't need to do anything." He replied. Jyo would naturally talk to the farmer about this matter. More or less a heads up in case it was needed, but he wasn't here to guard the animals, just the barn.
He looked over the bandit who was now in three pieces, getting down and check bags or whatnot, looking for any info the guy carried. "So did you happen to see these guys on any of your excursions here?" Jyo asked. He wanted as much info as he could get on these bandits.

"Actually I rarely see them anywhere where I stand, exept the around the barn and around lake and ponds." His stomach started growling, "well since your not guarding the animals, I guess you won't mind if I just dine on some stake and chicken." he had a wolfish grin on his face as he started to move past Jyo. "the farmer has best food I ever tasted... I try to leave some so he won't get to mad"

Jyo sighed. "Give me about a minute to go back to the barn where I won't see you. Then as far as I'm concerned, I'll tell the farmer I came across the dead livestock on my return from fighting the bandits." As Gareth was showing that he wasn't gluttonous and was going to leave the farmer some of his stock to rebuild, Jyo wouldn't stop him, but he wasn't going to bother with something outside of his job description.
Besides, it seems he's curious about that barn. If I get there first I would be able to tell if he tried to get in He thought as he turned to head to the barn.

Gareth made his way to the barn animals, but he was very disappointed to see that someone already got to most of them before he did. "umm Jyo... Did the farmer slaughter his animals.... cause all I see is blood and bones" sniffing the corpse of the animal bodies. "and they didnt save me any." his face became very pale knowing that some one got to his prey before he did.

Jyo shrugged. "I wouldn't know about that. As I said, i had one objective. So I didn't ask about anything outside of it. But I would recommend you get away from here because that is not what a farmer does when slaughtering his animals for food and all the other stuff. This was done by an animal, of at least something in the feral mindset." He replied while his hand went to the handle of his weapon and he looked around.
Jyo wasn't here to guard corpses, but he figured anything that could do this was likely a threat to him if he was still around. He made the recommendation due to the fact that Gareth being here could cause them both problems if this was how they were found.

"Skrew the farmer finding me, hes not a concern now" pointing at the dead animals. "this is a crises, I at save a couple... Besides how do you explain this to my stomach... Im dying here" even Gareth knew he wasn't starving. but he couldn't help himself he was hungry and the problem seemed very serious for him.

"Well I'm not hired to hunt for he she or it. Though I am thinking about heading out tomorrow night and seeing if I can't do some tracking. Maybe figure out where the culprit is." Jyo muttered as he started checking around the corpses. All of them torn to shreds. Jyo had seen this a few time, which was why he was concerned.
"It's a lycanthrope of some variety, there's no question there. The question is how dangerous is this thing? I've fought my share of Lycans, but it's not usually an easy task." He said as he pace deep in thought about how he should handle this. The likely outcome was that Jyo would have to slay the beast. Once it ran out of livestock, it would go after people next. he wouldn't allow that.
Looking back to Gareth he smiled. "So are you any good at tracking?" He asked. Jyo had a fair hand in it, but if he found someone better, it would be nice.

Gareth put his nose to the ground and sniffed all the dead animals then turned towards the end of the barn "I can smell up to 10 miles, that question was practically an insult." msking his way closer to the scent.
