Jyo looked over at Katrina and noticed she was looking out over the ocean as they walked along the beach. Jyo had never really seen the ocean like this before. He enjoyed seeing something new to his eyes.
He thought about what Katrina had said and gave a small shrug. "Who knows, maybe the current situation this world is in has made it so the general populace is too busy doing other things." he said. Jyo had seen that before, popular things that stopped being used or visited due to a change in situation.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." Katrina shrugged and continued along the shoreline as a wave slightly came up and soaked her feet. She smiled.
They were passed the docks and the sun was up high in the sky. She hoped that they would make it to the Pine Forest before dark. Then they could possibly camp out at the part of the beach, that was covered by a thick canopy of trees.
Katrina squinted her eyes and lifted her face up to feel the sun's warmth. She put her face down and looked at Jyo. "But this place is very calming without people crowding it." Katrina told him. She smiled as she turned away.
A breeze came up on them and lifted Katrina's curly hair from resting on her shoulders. The cool breeze felt good to Katrina. She took her hair and placed it back neatly. She waited for Jyo to say something. Though, just having him near was comforting. She could feel the heat radiating off of his body.

Jyo gave a sigh of contentment as the wind blew past and tugged at his long hair and his clothing. A small surge of lightning rippled around him as they walked and he couldn't help but agree with Katrina about how peaceful it was right now.
"It almost seems like we have the world to ourselves doesn't it?" He said. While he was used to traveling alone, he did run across people on a regular basis when going from one place to another. Even this small amount of time was longer than he normally went without crossing paths with someone. It was refreshing.
"I'll be honest, I could really go for the whole trip being uninterrupted. On the way top Navalen I was attacked by a few roadside bandits, very inconvenient." He said. "Besides, thats a little more time alone with you." he said with a quick wink. Jyo wasn't sure what it was, but Katrina seemed infectious to him. He was often thinking about her during the two days between the time they met and her birthday, the only thing that confused him about it was that in the small amount of time that they had known each other, he had grown more fond of her than people he had known for years.

"Yeah, it does." Katrina answered to Jyo's comment about how they have the world to themselves.
"A trip uninterrupted would be really nice." Katrina laughed as she thought of when Jyo and her first met and they both got jumped by a vampire. Well, she got jumped by a vampire. "I'm sure the bandits were no trouble for you though." Katrina smiled.
Katrina chuckled and gave a grin when he said it was more time alone with her. What so special about me? she thought as she smiled at Jyo. She liked Jyo. He was charming and actually very flattering toward her. She could never stop thinking abut him. But it wasn't like Katrina was going to tell him that. "Yeah, it has been nice spending time with you too." Katrina smiled. She turned her glance to the ocean and blushed.

Jyo fell gave a small internal chuckle as he didn't miss the blush on Katrina's face, it was partially because that was one of his intents, and a little bit because his face had a slightly more red tint to it. He had been with a few girls, but he hadn't felt any real connection with them before, something he felt disappointed by. With Katrina he actually felt something, even if they only remained friends, he still had met someone he could feel at peace when he was with them.
"I realized that I haven't asked this yet, but what exactly do you do in the waste?" He asked. Jyo wondered what a person did out there He had met Audra and she was an artifact hunter as well as a racer, but there didn't seem to be as much to do out there. It was a pretty tame place, Jyo liked it for that, but it was hard to find work out in the area, so he didn't go there often.

"Um..." Katrina thought about how to answer Jyo 's question. "Well...I don't really do anything at the moment. I had some different jobs in the Outlanders City a few years ago, but they didn't work out. So, I sing in the streets for money most of the time. They at least get me enough money to survive." Katrina told him.
"Then I don't pay anything for living. I just built myself a house in the forest. Pretty serene. And I only spent a little money on it." Katrina shrugged. "So, most of the time I just wandered in the forest. Nothin' much to do. But I do go to the dunebuggy races and things like that."

Jyo grinned. "So you pretty much just kick back and have a good time. Makes me wonder what the hell is so great about what most people call progress compared to how you seem to live." He said.
Jyo wasn't a person for the simple life, he enjoyed wandering too much, and though he knew it wasn't exactly a good thing, he loved his life as a sword for hire. He knew he had hurt many people in the past, but the trick was to distance himself from others as people.
Maybe that was part of the reason Katrina fascinated him. He enjoyed being around her, and liked her very much. But to connect with her so easily, he had trained to make sure that wouldn't happen, nobody should be able to make him feel close to them so easily. And the part that really got him thinking, was that he liked it.

Katrina laughed at Jyo's comment. He was a pretty fun person to be around. "Yeah, I like the way I live though. Gives me time to think and have fun with the life I got." Katrina shrugged. She actually stayed in the Waste so she didn't have to see her parents. She was always afraid that she might run into them in Navalen. The thought always scared her.
"So," She sighed. "What do you do when your not on a job?" Katrina wanted to know more about Jyo. In the short time they spent together, Katrina already considered him a trusted friend.

Jyo gave a shrug. "Normally I wander aimlessly, just letting myself travel on a whim and gut instinct. Like you, I enjoy having a lot of time to simply think about things." He said. Jyo did very little outside of work. he trained and wandered, every so often he visited his parents.
"Sometimes I find myself doing odd things here and there. For example, the day after I met you I was exploring the tunnels and met a nice woman named Audra, she and I found some very interesting artifacts while there, including an interesting book." He said. He smiled at the thought of finding the book the outlined his family history up to a point, it had been the only time he ever shed a tear, and it was one of happiness.

Katrina listened to Jyo and turned her glance back to the ocean.
"You like learning about your race, don't you?" Katrina asked, switching her glance back to Jyo. Jyo was a very interesting person. In Katrina's eyes, he looked very intelligent. His personality seemed like it too. He was raised differently, Katrina thought he was such a gentleman. Katrina looked into his piecing green eyes, awaiting his response.

This was the first time a sorrowful look crossed Jyo's face in a long time, though it was mixed with a bit of hope. "Yes I am. I enjoy learning about other races as well, but as far as I can tell, I'm the only one of my race left. The elementalist abilities skipped over my father to me. I haven't even heard of them outside of my family. It's a... very lonely feeling at times." he said while managing to pull out a smile.
"But I really try not to let it get to me. It's a big world, I just have to keep my eyes and ears open." He said with a full grin. Jyo was really just trying to keep things pleasant, but he seriously doubted he would ever find another of his race. The book chronicling his family revealed the fact that at some point there was a mass of elementalists that simply vanished into history.

Katrina nodded with a small frown on her face. Even though Jyo pulled a smile together, she could see that the matter had made him a little sad. Katrina quickly turned her frown into a small smile.
"Well, even if you are the only elemenalist left, that makes you special." Katrina laughed, trying her hardest to cheer him up. She smiled at him and hoped that he would smile too.

Jyo chuckled. "Thanks, but I would rather be special for my abilities or who I am." he said before giving a smile. "I appreciate you trying to cheer me up, it worked well enough. It's just a matter that still bugs me a little. But I've found out a lot recently. And that helps me feel a little closer to my roots." He game a small chuckle again.
"So would you like to make camp here on the beach when it's time to rest? The sun makes a green flash when it hits the water which is supposed to look amazing." he said.

"Oh, yeah, of course." Katrina nodded. The sun was almost set. She hadn't noticed how the time had flown by. She could see the Pine Forest just a few feet away.
"The beach ends up here by the forest. There's little area where the tree forms a canopy over the beach. We could camp there and still watch the sunset. Come on." She smiled. She turned in front of Jyo and grabbed his hand. She started to hold his hand and walk toward the forest.

Jyo grinned as Katrina lead him to the place that they could set their camp up in. He looked around and gave a small nod of approval. It was a very nice setup. It wouldn't take long to set up camp.
"Nice spot." Jyo said as he let his bag down and opened it up to pull out the collapsible poles and ropes along with the canvas cover that made his small tent. it could likely fit three if need be, Jyo never knew when it would be needed for that. He looked over at Katrina. "So what are you going to want to eat tonight?" He asked as he started getting to work on his little bit of shelter.

Katrina walked along the line of the trees and slipped her bag down from her shoulder. She ran his fingers across the tree's leaves as she could smell fruit close ahead.
Jyo asked about what they were going to do about food. Katrina shrugged. "Well, I think I can smell food somewhere in the trees." She said spinning on her heel and looking at him. "One minute." Se shot up into the sky, then shot back down into the trees. She looked through the thick forest then saw a few trees with fruit on them. She smiled and plucked an apple on the tree. She shot back up into the air, then back to the beach. She took a bite out of the apple. "See?" She smiled.

Jyo gave a shrug and a grin as Katrina got and apple from a tree. "Well if you want fruit than I can go with that." He said as he grabbed a light out of his bag and chuckled. "I was thinking fish." He said before taking off his boots, jacket and shirt.
"Fruit does sound good to go with it though. How about you get some fruit and a bit of firewood, I'm going to do a little trick with the light and the fish, messes with them for some reason. I don't know why it works, but I was taught how to do it." He said before darting out to the water. He figured he had a good fifteen minutes to catch their meal before the sun had set. Plenty of time.
Jyo returned dripping wet with two fish as long as his arms. His little hunt had been successful and they had about five minutes to spare. He set the fish on a nearby rock and looked to see how Katrina had done with her little excursion.

Katrina shrugged. "Okay, I could go for some fish." She said as she flew up into the sky again and darted i to the trees to get more fruit and fire wood.
She soon had a plethora of food sitting out and a fire made. She sat down on the soft sand bit into an apple. Then she saw Jyo coming up on the beach with two fish. He put them on a rock. "Fishing trip went well, eh?"

Misty wandered through the Pine Forest, trying to find the beach. She had left Roxy back in the apartment to rest. Roxy hadn't been feeling that good for the past couple of days.
Misty trudged through some mud with her hand on her gun strapped to her belt. She shook her hair out of her face and finally came to the beach. She had some money buried in a chest under the sand and needed the money to pay her rent.
Misty stopped when she heard voices. She peeked through the trees. There was a man and a woman that had set up camp. Misty cursed to herself. She rested against a log. She hoped that maybe they would be gone soon.

Jyo gave a nod and a grin and Katrina's comment. "Better than I had hoped. After sunset I'll get these things cooked and one can be dinner, the other I'll prepare so we can eat on the road. Thanks for getting the other things." He said as he pulled a loose fitting white shirt out of his bag and slipped it on along with a pair of sandals.
Sitting down facing the coast where the sun was setting he patted the ground next to him in invitation for katrin to have a seat while they watched.
Odd, I feel like we're being watched, I'll just keep alert though, no need to cause any worry if someone is just curious about us. he thought.
