Katrina nodded as Jyo got up and went over to get dinner. he commented on her kick. "well, I'm not what you would probably called 'trained'. Growing up in the outlander's City is where I learned to fight. I actually got money fighting sometimes. And sometimes I just had to fight to get back to the forest in one piece. Plus, this guy in the Outlander's City has it in for me. i borrowed some money from him a few years ago, guessing it was a gift.....then it turned out it wasn't. He wanted me to pay him back....of course I didn't have the money, so i just kicked his sorry arse." Katrina explained as she picked her nails. An awful habit of hers.

Jyo chuckled as he tended to their dinner. "You certainly seem to have a way with people don't you?" He said as he flipped the fish over and applied the spices and herbs to the other side. During his free time his mother taught him how to cook and prepare meals even when traveling and living off what the land offered.
"So this guy. I take it he leaves you alone after you knocked him around a bit eh?" He asked while putting some of the things he wouldn't be using again back into his bag.

"yeah I guess I do." Katrina laughed as she watched Jyo cook the fish.
"Eh, the guy's name is Trigger. he's not that bright. just some slug from the Outlander's City. works for the underground mob and such." Katrina shrugged. she wasn't scared of Trigger at all anymore. "Usually he just comes to my house and knocks on my door. I* usually don't answer it and there's no trouble. But when I feel happy, I'll fly out the window, grabbed Trigger and hang him by his T-shirt on a high branch. it's actually a pretty funny sight." Katrina laughed. "but we sued to really get into it. i still have some scars from the fights. he's stupid, but he is strong. but i was quicker and i usually ended up winning. but a few weeks later...he'd be back.

Jyo listened with a slightly concerned expression on his face. The food was done and he walked over handing Katrina hers on a plate. "Well you can at least look out for yourself, but you might want to be careful messing with this guy. His higher ups are likely going to be annoyed by this even if they don't care about Trigger himself." Jyo said before getting his own food together and sitting by Katrina.
"Well eat up." he said before taking a bite out of the dinner he had fixed up. He wasn't a huge fan of seafood, he liked it, but he preferred veal and beef over fish. Though the seasoning and herbs more than made up for it.

"don't worry about Trigger. he's just some waste idiot. there's alot of 'em." Katrina shrugged. "Thanks." She said as she took the food. She bit into it. She was really hungry. She had left before Taeloc had gotten up.
She ate her food quickly without any talking. "Damn, Jyo," She said as she put the plate down in front of her. "that was really good." She smiled at him. "where did you learn to cook like that?" She asked as the sky started to get black.

Jyo wasn't worried about this person Trigger. He belonged to a group and that was what worried the young mercenary. A group made sure all of its matters were handled, even one like with their man Trigger. But Katrina wasn't a pushover and she wasn't stupid, Jyo was pretty sure she could handle herself well enough.
He grinned at the fact that she ate without speaking, that was always a compliment to the meal. he grinned at her question. "Well thank you. I spent a lot of time helping my mother in the kitchen. Over time I simply found cooking to be a wonderful pastime. It's therapeutic for me in a way. I just get lost in all the activity and focus I use for it." He said as he let his arm go around her shoulders again like before they were interrupted by that attack.
"You'll find I have a lot of little talents hidden about me. I never feel that I can't learn something new." He said as he thought about how many little tricks he had learned over his time as a wanderer. He could settle into almost any profession, but he enjoyed the life he chose far too much to do anything else for a while.

Katrina laughed. "That's funny. I would never have imagined you as a chef." She watched as Jyo's arm slipped around her shoulders. She smiled and leaned against him. The sky was dark and the only light was of the fire now.
"Why did you choose to be a mercenary?" Katrina was curious. Jyo seemed very intelligent and could probably do anything if he wanted to. Katrina didn't oppose his profession. She hadn't meet many mercenaries in her life. Jyo was probably the only one.

Jyo couldn't help but smile and relax as Katrina leaned against him. it wasn't a feeling he was really used to, but he liked it. "Well they say an army travels on it's stomach. The same holds true for small groups as well." Jyo replied with a small chuckle.
"As for why i became a mercenary. i didn't like the idea of becoming a soldier, which was what I was being raised as. It has been my only act of cowardice which was running from home. Though that is in the past and all was forgiven. I enjoy traveling the world and I need to make money to do so. This is why I sell my blade to those who need it." He said as he let bittersweet memories flash through his mind while relaxed a little more. This was more of what he had in mind for their time together.

Katrina listened to Jyo's explanation. "So, you ran away from home and became a mercenary...how did your father feel ab9out that?" Katrina asked. It seemed his father played a big role in his life and not going into the profession you were raised to do, and running away from home, made Katrina think his after might be a little angry about the situation.

Jyo gave a quick laugh in reply. "He was ready to tear me apart. He's an old fashioned kind of guy. he was a military man along with the other men in my family, so naturally I should follow in their footsteps. But he actually felt he had raised a weakling as a son who didn't want to face what was ahead of him." He said with a small grin.
"It took me winning a duel against him when I returned home the first time to get it through his head that I simply want to follow my own path and not his. Things have been easier since then." He said while letting his free arm went to the sand and his fingers trailed through it.
"So what is it you'd like to do if you found a solid profession somewhere?" He asked. Katrina didn't talk about herself as much, she seemed interested in learning about him, which Jyo was all too happy to oblige her, but that didn't stop him from being curious about her as well.

Katrina chuckled. "Well...i don't know." Katrina shrugged. "Never really thought about it." She was too busy out in the forest...and making money was usually easy for her.
"Well," She shrugged again. 'I really do love singing and dancing. I've always thought of being a performer in the theater of Navalen, but...I couldn't afford to move there, i was rejected one time, and I love living in the Waste much to much. Though, I could work in the theater in the Outlander's City. But they just started to build that. It won't be done until...maybe two years from now." She explained.

Jyo gave Katrina a smile. "You certainly could be a good dancer, I've seen how you move." He said as he shifted slightly to get more comfortable where he was. "I'll have to hear you sing at some point. I'm not terribly good at it myself, but I enjoy hearing it."
That was Jyo's time with his mother which gave him the love for singing. She enjoyed going to events where singing was involved. She had taught Jyo how to really listen to a song, to not just heard the words and follow the melody, but to also sense what feelings the singer expressed.

"Well I'm glad you enjoy hearing good singing, but if you think i'm gonna sing you're insane." She laughed. She didn't like singing to friends. She always got nervous and started to laugh. The weird hyena laugh she was born with and she definitely didn't wan tot laugh in front of Jyo.
"But yeah, I learned how to dance in the outlander's City too." Katrina dded. She learned about alot of things there.

Jyo gave a lopsided grin as he chuckled. "If i act insane would you sing?" He asked. He was just joking a bit, if Katrina felt nervous about singing he didn't see any need to pressure her. That wouldn't cause anything but unpleasantness.
"I've never learned any type of dance outside of ballroom dancing myself, I was brought up to know how to act in formal events. Though I will admit to being quite good at it." He said. "Though maybe you can teach me some other dances, i think you would find me to be an excellent student." He added.

Katrina laughed. "No, if you act insane I'll probably runaway."
"I don't know alot of dances myself. I'm just a street dancer." Katrina shrugged. "I know a few types of dances but blended in with freestyle. I've never learned ballroom though." Katrina laughed when Jyo said he'd be a good student. "I'm sure you would." Katrina laughed and smiled at him.

"Well then maybe we can get around to teaching each other at some point." He said with a grin. So far today had gone pretty well. There was that one incident with that girl shooting fire at them, but that hadn't turned out as bad as it could be.
Shifting slightly again Jyo gave a small sigh. "This has turned out to be pretty nice. I think traveling alone after this is going to be a bit lonely now." He said.

Katrina smiled and chuckled a little. "I'll make sure of it." Dancing had always been a fun activity for her. Ballroom dancing seemed like a fun thing to learn.
"Traveling alone is probably gonna be more lonely for me too." Katrina sighed. Katrina shrugged. It was a funny idea, but she couldn't help but ask. "Maybe...I can travel with you then." She said.

Jyo nodded at her suggestion. "Sure, I would enjoy your company. Keep in mind it's not a stable life, and my profession isn't the safest there is, but having you along with be a very pleasant thing." He said.
It would certainly be a change for him to have someone with him on a regular basis, but he felt that considering who it was, it would be a nice change to have her along.

Katrina gave a relaxed smile. Traveling with Jyo seemed pretty nice. He got to travel everywhere and it seemed like a fun life. "I'll definitely keep it in mind." Katrina yawned. Her eyes started to close when she suddenly snapped back awake. She pulled herself up, not leaning against him anymore. "Guess i should go to bed." She told him. She got up and walked back to her bag. The moonlight helped her find the blanket Taeloc gave her and she laid it a little ways from the fire. She sat down and looked at Jyo. "Good night, Jyo." She smiled. She rolled over and laid down staring into the Pine Forest. Katrina quickly fell asleep.

Jyo gave a warm smile as Katrina got up and went over to her bag to go and sleep. "Rest well, Katrina." he said softly as he stood up and walked over to his weapon on the ground.
He had decided to stay up and keep an eye out after their run-in with the fireball-shooting girl earlier. He didn't need as much sleep as some and felt it would be better to take a few precautions and keep watch over the night.
During the evening several things ran through his mind, though he didn't dwell on many of them. his thoughts kept drifting back to the idea of Katrina traveling with him. Perhaps a little company was what he really needed when he was out and about, but it was a change that still caused him to be slightly nervous. After getting used to being alone, it was odd to think of having a companion.
Jyo stayed awake and alert until the first rays of the sun broke over the horizon. Getting up he started collapsing his tent to start packing things up. They still had a long road ahead of them.
